
Lead Financial Project Control Analyst

The Lead Financial Project Control Analyst (FPCA) is primarily responsible for leading the planning, monitoring, controlling and reporting on project financial progress to assess project status from a financial perspective.
The role should also:
- deliver analytical expertise with the objective of improving project performance, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and contractual requirements and improving the cost-effectiveness of the management of projects; and
- deliver Continuous Improvement, constantly implementing improvements to the existing people, process and tools.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
- Lead the provision of DXC financial management expertise to project managers, including training, problem resolution, analysis etc.;
- Interface with contacts in DXC Finance to ensure that there is communication between DXC Finance and the Program team
- Lead the setup of Program Financial Management structure, including:
- liaising with the TE to create the work breakdown structure of the program;
- collating and reporting on cost model budgets;
- creating WBS codes and ensuring program WBS codes are included in all standard financial reporting; and
- providing training to PMs and other FPCAs on how to manage the financials.
- Lead the monitoring, reporting and analysing of project financials during the execution of the program, including:
- preparation and analysis of weekly labour and cost reports;
- maintenance of budget and variation figures, and investigating causes of variance;
- collation of budgets, variations, actual, ETC, invoicing and other metrics to prepare Monthly Financial reporting including EAC reporting;
- analysis of Monthly Financial reporting and liaision with Program and Project Managers to identify and assist in resolution of issues;
- identification of projects that are required to attend various reviews, participate in reviews and track actions; and
- ensuring that standard process at project and program completion is followed by working with PMs, e.g., ensuring all costs have been received, WBS codes are closed etc.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE**
- Typically a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience and a minimum of six years related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of four years of experience.
- Previous experience in project financial management and reporting for large programs, including EAC reporting
- Minimum two years of experience working in program management office supporting large programs with multiple projects and project managers
- Good leadership skills to manage up and down
- Strong focus on Continuous Improvement
- Experience working as a member in a multi-disciplinary team
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills, for interacting with team members, project managers and clients, building trust and rapport
- Strong administrative and Microsoft Office toolset skills - especially Excel and Power BI
- Strong Organisational skills to balance and prioritise work
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Team player who is very proactive
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and change
- A good understanding of Project Management Principles
