**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Accounts Officer is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations.

**The main responsibilities of this role include**:
Perform the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure that finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner. These include but are not limited to:

- Ensure expenditures are in accordance with Company Expenditure Delegation authorities.
- Review/reconcile vendor Statements and follow-up unidentified or unpaid items.
- Prepare weekly payment run for cheques and EFT’s, ensuring remittance advices are attached to invoices and payment selection reports are attached to the EFT summary and/or cheques drawn.
- Process Company credit card transactions promptly to ensure for inclusion in the current month’s expenditure and payment by the due date.
- Update spreadsheet provided from Council’s for Council and Water rates; process charges promptly to ensure payment by due date.

**ABOUT YOU**
- A qualification in the field of accounts or accounting would be highly desirable.
- A high competence of numeracy and literacy
- Good working knowledge of financial systems
- Accurate and efficient data entry skills
- Ability to manipulate and filter spreadsheet data and generate mail merge documents
