**The Role**
The Sustainability Associate is a new role which has been created due to strong investments, growth, and ambitious sustainability objectives. It is responsible for supporting the delivery of positive returns in portfolio companies through the focus on social sustainability elements of the Infrastructure team's sustainability priorities. In addition, the Sustainability Associate will support the infrastructure team’s approach to community investment and contribution to their Reconciliation, Diversity, and Inclusion Action Plans. Key responsibilities include:
- Working with the Asset Management team and portfolio companies to support continuous improvement in the approach and outcomes related to the management and mitigation of third party risks including modern slavery, and social impact measurement.
- Support the Infrastructure team’s approach to community investment and contribution to the Reconciliation, Diversity & Inclusion Action Plans.
- Working with the People team to develop initiatives to increase employee participation in social sustainability programs.
- Develop internal and external engagement and communication programs and initiatives to promote the Infrastructure social sustainability agenda.
**About you**
You are passionate about sustainability with a previous track record of successfully working across complex businesses to deliver measurable social sustainability outcomes. You are always current on trends and upcoming issues, which not only makes you a knowledgeable partner, but an excellent advisor.
Your clever ability to interrogate data and match it with the required strategic alignment, will enable you to connect this to client initiatives and values. You have extensive experience in stakeholder management, with a nuanced approach to driving outcomes that is strategic as well as impactful. This is due to your well-honed influencing skills with years of working with senior leaders and Boards.
You have a strong desire to collaborate and are comfortable engaging with senior executives and board, but can pivot into writing client reports, and roll up your sleeves to get involved. In addition, you will possess:
- Tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g., business, economics, sustainability, social science, or related discipline).
- At least 5 years knowledge, skills, and experience in a similar role with solid experience in developing, managing and implementing social sustainability programs.
- Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple deadlines and take ownership of initiatives and implement across the organisation.
