Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for Environmental and Sustainability project excellence? Join Sunwater as an Environment & Sustainability Manager where you'll partner with the Project Director and relevant stakeholders to support the development and delivery of Barlil & Cooranga Weirs by ensuring relevant requirements are managed and delivered, leading and overseeing environmental approvals, sustainability, cultural heritage and traditional owners' requirements.
As Environment & Sustainability Manager at Sunwater, you will:
- Oversee the Environmental Management Plan ensuring adherence to project requirements in compliance with ISO 14001 and legislation.
- Oversee required environmental approvals, studies and assessments to ensure compliance and progression to project execution.
- Manage the delivery of project requirements in line with the State and Federal project environmental approval conditions.
- Oversee the management of relevant Cultural Heritage requirements including Native Title for the Alliance.
- Lead the delivery of the Project's sustainability rating with the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC).
We are seeking a talented individual with a proven track record in the development and approval process associated with the delivery of major infrastructure. You will hold a bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, environmental engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 10 years' experience in an Environmental role within the Infrastructure Construction industry and have experience in government or consulting to government. You will also bring:
- Extensive experience in the delivery of collaborative contracts such as alliances and integrated partnering agreements on large complex civil infrastructure projects (>$300m).
- Highly experienced in the application of environmental and risk management systems, natural resource management, environmental law, sustainability principles and practices, and the respective AS/NZS/ISO standards.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
