**THE ROLE**

The IG Carbon & Sustainability Specialist role owns and drives the business forward in both its compliance obligations and continuous improvement journey to bring Integrated Gas’ Environment, Social and Governance disclosures into alignment with the enterprise framework used for core and business processes.

The role is to support the IG business unit ensuring that greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting meets regulatory obligations, external disclosures and internal reporting requirements and support the decarbonisation strategy by developing, improving, and streamlining reporting and data management.

**RESPONSIBILTIES**
- The Carbon & Sustainability Specialist role will deliver an integral part of the foundation needed for IG to mature its understanding of GHG emissions and its complex regulatory landscape, ensuring that business decisions consider GHG emissions, energy efficiency and impacts on reporting obligations.
- The role will work to streamline and maintain the processes used to identify, quantify, and report emissions and provide clarity to all stakeholders within the business on current operational emissions.
- Work with key stakeholders to align, improve and document current emissions reporting processes in Promapp clearly defining steps and accountabilities for all aspects of IG GHG emissions and ESG reporting, for all teams in IG. Working closely with the Hydrocarbon accounting project in the development of its GHG module.
- Identify and reconcile data sources used for GHG emissions reporting and maintain data in accordance with the Manage Information core process, driving consistency between assets and identifying opportunities to streamline data capture. Provide clear linkage between NGER legislation and the process used to identify, quantify and report emissions to meet requirements of that legislation.
- You will work with stakeholders across the wider Origin business and industry associations monitoring developments (both domestic and global) on greenhouse gas emissions, climate change and other ESG issues that will affect IG. Providing analysis on GHG and or Sustainability factors that may improve performance or present risks to IG.
- The role will support engagement with regulators and state and federal government departments as well as Joint Venture partners, this includes preparation of impact assessments, trend analysis and improvement opportunities.
- Support contribution to consultations on GHG policy development and NGER legislation amendments to ensure constructive feedback is provided that supports responsible climate policy.
- The role will also contribute to other key sustainability disclosures to help drive improved governance, quantification and transparency and will be required to work closely with multiple divisions across the IG business unit, Origin Group and Joint Venture partners.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Degree qualified with additional qualifications that support the analytical needs of the role (eg technical or Sustainability-specific discipline)
- Previous experience working with reporting or quantification of greenhouse gas emissions, GHG related legislation and frameworks preferrable
- Numerate and analytical, yet flexible in approach to solving new problems including improvement of data-intensive activities that touch multiple stakeholders
- Prior experience in process mapping, technical writing and verbal communication, working with IG core processes preferrable
- Ability to influence and communicate at all levels both within Origin, IG and externally to government and regulators
- Ability to understand and interpret legislation to ensure business compliance obligations are met
- Strong engagement, influencing and delivery skills to ensure stakeholder input is effectively sought, synthesized and converted to tangible output, ensuring stakeholders are engaged in the journey
