The role you could play

As a Support Worker you will support Women and Families who have experienced Family Violence to implement client led case plans, referring complex matters to more senior staff.

This will include:

- Provide clients accessing the service with a welcoming and responsive initial contact and urgent and immediate needs are addressed
- In consultation with more senior worker/s appropriate preventative action is taken in relation to potential high-risk situations
- Provide information to assist in assessing and addressing client issues, needs and circumstances
- Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination, participation and support them to meet their goals
- Assist clients to access support services
- Supporting the general needs of the service
- Assisting Case Managers and clients to progress in their case plans
- Child focused, inclusive practice

This is a permanent full-time role with roles available at Dulwich Hill and Surry Hills. Afternoon shifts are from 4pm - 10pm. There is also an option of weekend day shifts or overnight sleep shifts starting from 6pm - 9am. This role will require an on-call allowance on a roster basis.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with Social, Community, Homecare and Disability Services Award Level 3 plus evening, weekend and night shift allowance.

What you will bring
- Cert III Community Studies or equivalent
- Relevant experience in a social service environment
- Trauma and Domestic Violence Informed Practice
- Person Centred, Strength Based approach
- Pool cars are provided and a relevant driver’s licence is required
- Relevant state Working with Children Check is required
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
