
Hospital Specialist Representative

**The Position**:
This is a secondment until 30th of September. Reporting to the National Specialist Sales Manager, a fantastic opportunity exists in our established National Hospital Specialist team. You will be responsible for managing your own territory including public hospitals and private rooms within the Respiratory therapy area engaging primarily with Respiratory Physicians and Rheumatologists. The territory for this role spans across Queensland including all major hospitals.
**Tasks & Responsibilities**:
- Delivery of sales and activity targets for assigned territory.
- Identify and effectively target key customers.
- Exceed required proportion of targeted customers accessed.
- Achieve standard of infield days per annum.
- Achieve coverage and frequency expectation.
- Achieve inclusion of BI products in hospital protocols when necessary
- Co-ordinate and manage functions designed to add value to customers, including in-service programs, journal clubs, case conferences.
- Allocate budget in cost effective ways to maximize sales.
- Achieve high standard of technical & professional knowledge.
- Work effectively in cross-functional territory team, contributing to team success, and develop effective cross functional relationships providing information to marketing.
- Develop selling skills, building credible and trusting relationships with customers.
- Achieve development plan through active learning, working towards next applicable DRIVE standard.
- Collaborate with cross functional team members to develop and implement account plans.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 2 years hospital pharmaceutical sales experience, or 3-5 years GP experience preferably in the respiratory or rheumatology therapy areas
- Bachelor’s degree in medical or life sciences desirable, not essential
- Ability to develop and maintain high level of technical knowledge (including competitor, disease state, product, and clinical) to build credible, valuable and trusting relationships.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of the Australian healthcare industry and up to date with current Medicine Australia Code of Conduct
- Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proven track record of sales success
- High level of technical and professional skill in work-related areas
- High level of proficiency in selling skills
- Proficient in territory management
- Strong influencing and negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Confident and effective customer networking skills in the hospital environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage competing business priorities and problem solve.
- Ability to monitor own performance and communicate through electronic means.
