Perigon is proud to partnering with market leading and global freight business, Ligentia in their search for a General Manager of Freight Forwarding. With over 20 years of freight forwarding experience, their team of logistics experts will be able to find the right solution for any customer and are truly leading the way in growth, innovation and market share.

Reporting to the Managing Director of the Australian Operations, this critical executive role will work closely with the entire leadership and operations team to ensure the successful management of the most business-critical teams in their operation. This role is responsible for the complete oversight of Freight Operations, Customer Success, Customer Experience and Customs Brokerage functions, QHSE, revenue and cost performance of the International Freight Forwarding division of Ligentia Australia Pty Ltd.

**The Role**
You will be responsible for the following duties:

- P&L commercial performance and budgeting of Ligentia’s international freight business in Australia
- Leading our QHSE program to the ISO standards as outlined within the IMS as it relates to offices and international freight team members
- Operational performance and Customer satisfaction leader of Ligentia’s international freight business in Australia
- Customer contract management, negotiation, and relationship leader of Ligentia’s international freight business in Australia
- Foster and be responsible for setting high levels of cooperation between the international freight and 3PL business units of Ligentia Australia
- Responsible for leading, developing and retaining a high performing team, and the ongoing review of department effectiveness and productivity, while upholding standards of excellence and quality.
- Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships
- Strategic KPI oversight through collaboration with internal senior management team and work on regional improvement projects with between Oceania and Asia.
- Procurement negotiation - supporting the international freight procurement team with shipping line negotiations, freight operations wharf cartage team with fostering better relationships and ways of working with cartage providers, ensuring our Customs leader and team are maintaining ATT & licensing standards
- You will maintain relationships across all the executive, leadership team, corporate services functions, and operations while being a key point of contact for all external stakeholder relationships and partnerships.

**About You**
- Several years of experience in a leadership role working in a well-known Freight Forwarding business. You will be a progressive leader who can conduct all aspects of international freight management services in a fast paced, dynamic & growing business.
- An exceptional communicator who naturally builds relationships and leads by example by creating a culture of accountability by embedding performance metrics and performance objectives throughout the freight forwarding business and teams.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and lead process improvement strategies: this would include verbal articulation of the review plan, and present completed processing mapping critical path workflows
- A high level of emotional intelligence; able to motivate and empower people, including maximise individual potential talent and capability growth. Passionate about customer success and customer satisfaction
- A high level of expert knowledge, matched by the ability to positively influence all components of international freight cost and revenue drivers through your hands-on leadership and team development management style
- Data and systems articulate; essential, given so much of the role’s success is governed by systems and workflow process improvement, combined with your People leadership, individual and team development skills.
