Hseq Lead

Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Seqwater to deliver leading maintenance services in the water industry. These projects cover South East Queensland across multiple locations.

We are currently seeking a permanent HSEQ Lead to support our long-term water maintenance partnership. This role supports the business in providing and assisting with HSEQ matters and is based at our Brisbane office.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead investigations into safety incidents, non-conformances or other issues as they arise from time to time and review investigations completed by the team for adequacy
- Responsible for the quality assurance schedule to maintain contract compliance
- Monitor SCMC performance with the WHS, environmental, water quality, quality,risk management and other business systems
- Conduct inspections and audits to measure SCMC performance and compliance with contractual provisions and prepare reports to document findings and improvement recommendations
- Develop and maintain the processes and tools to measure and manage compliance
- Conduct training and coaching of operational staff undertaking audits, inspections and job observations as required
- Facilitate continual improvement within SCMC performance
- Flexibility to work across regions and business units

**Experience**
- At least 7 years experience in a HSEQ role
- Extensive Field Experience (preferably high risk environments) essential
- Working knowledge of WHS, Environmental management and Quality requirements for internal and outsourced contracts
- Knowledge of drinking water quality management principles and practices
- Good communication, interpersonal, negotiation and facilitation skills including the ability to conduct negotiations and influence others
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes
- Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
- Production of high quality performance and data reporting
- Communicate and co-operate with external stakeholders including: industrial bodies, academia, market intelligence, relevant conferences, vendors, business acquisition and business development.
- Working within contractual requirements and strategic requirements (including business partnering towards a leader lead business)

Skills / Qualifications:

- Diploma in WHS is essential
- Cert IV in Training Assessment is a requirement
- Desirable:

- Auditor or Lead Auditor qualifications
- ICAM
- Environmental qualifications
- Diploma or experience in Quality disciplines will be well regarded.
