Early Autism Services provides individualized Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with autism and their families. Our mission is to see each child that we work with reach their full potential in every area of development. EAS prides itself on having the expertise that comes from years of direct experience developing and implementing effective, high-quality ABA programming.
The Behaviour Consultant position requires either a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) or Qualified Behaviour Analyst (QBA) credential. Its primary position is to plan, develop and monitor a variety of behavioural support service delivery options to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other developmental disorders.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Creation, training and implementation of specified behaviour reduction plans with clients
- Teaching parents how to utilize ABA strategies in their everyday life
- Maintaining professional relationships and building rapport across clients, families, and staff
- Analysing data taken by therapy teams, making informed treatment decisions, and writing detailed treatment notes at the end of each session that meets the standard of EAS as well as external funding sources
- Travelling to each client's setting (home, school, day-care, community) or visiting on telehealth to conduct protocol modification and parent training sessions
- Providing 1:1 training sessions with new hire therapists in which concepts and techniques learned by trainees during out-of-home training are modelled, resulting performance is evaluated, and effective feedback is given
- Corresponding with branch Clinical Director on a weekly basis to discuss clients on caseload and present data on Submitting treatment and intervention plan reports to the Clinical Director for feedback
- Conducting a wide variety of behavioural assessments which include, but are not limited to: the VB-MAPP, ABLLS, AFLS, Vineland-3, Functional Behaviour Assessments, and Functional Analyses
- Compiling, analysing, and presenting both assessment reports and treatment plans in a manner that is easily understood by clients, families, funding providers, and other disability services providers
- Reviewing assessment results and treatment plans with parents, obtaining suggestions for any potential alterations, and receiving consent before implementation
- Ensuring all required onboarding documentation is collected and stored in a PHI-compliant manner
- Working with local professionals to secure environmental support for clients
- Conducting direct therapy as-needed
**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**:
- Participating in company-specific ongoing training as well as CE events which maintain a credential approved by either the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or the Qualified Applied Behaviour Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA).
- A Master's degree in special education, psychology, or related field, with specialized knowledge of behavioural health and treatment philosophies and professional practices
- A minimum of three years of recent experience working with individuals who have autism spectrum disorders (or other developmental disabilities) and their families
- Knowledge of early childhood and autism assessment tools and procedures, and thorough knowledge of child development. Experience developing positive behaviour support plans and programs; experience teaching social interaction and play skills
- Knowledge of current methods and techniques of applied behaviour analysis; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients, parents, and professionals; competence in analysing assessment results, designing appropriate individual treatment plans and behavioural programs, and monitoring progress
- Knowledge and utilization of effective generalisation techniques (such as Natural Environment Teaching and Incidental Teaching)
