**Roles & Responsibilities**:
Our client has the vision of helping people to realise their potential has expanded to encompass diverse services and client groups, from NDIS participants with severe disabilities to TAC claimants recovering from life-altering accidents.

Due to the exciting growth, they currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven Behavioural Support Practitioner to join their team. In this role, you will provide high-quality service to a diverse group of clients with an emphasis on NDIS participants and their parents and carers to advance each individual towards their goals and desired outcomes and enable them to realise greater quality of life.

As a behaviour support practitioner, your role within the team is integral to the achievement of participants’ goals and outcomes for greater independence, participation, wellbeing and quality of life. You will work collaboratively with our psychologists and provide planning, implementation, education and review of positive behaviour support plans for a diverse range of clients with varying needs.

Objectives within this role includes:

- To functionally assess people with complex behaviours
- To create individualised positive Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) using evidence-based best practice to improve the quality of life of our NDIS participants
- To assist with education of parents/caregivers in strategies for effective implementation of BSPs
- To understand and adhere to NDIS reporting guidelines and requirements
- To adhere to the NDIS code of conduct
- To provide the NDIS with reports on outcomes and success indicators at the agreed reporting intervals
- To participate in collaborative consultation within the multidisciplinary team
- To liaise with external stakeholders including parents and caregivers, healthcare providers and external agencies and referral partners as well as regulatory bodies if/as applicable
- To provide, where appropriate, information about and/or referral to other services to assist in meeting clients’ needs, including co-located services
- To keep confidential, accurate and timely case notes in accordance with the guidelines, as well as recording data on database
- To adhere to and uphold codes of conduct and values at all times
- To perform other duties as negotiated with the Director

- **Interest groups**: Select the mixed or specific caseload that suits you. Options include young paeds, adolescent, disability, aged care and home mods.
- **Community access**: A work car is provided for travelling from a clinic to community consults. Travel reimbursement is provided to practitioners who prefer to use a personal car.
- **Clinic-only caseload**: For practitioners who don’t enjoy community visits, we can provide a clinic-only caseload.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Reside in and hold full working rights in Australia
- Experience in the disability sector working with NDIS participants and knowledge of NDIS framework
- Demonstrated professional behaviour support practitioner skills and knowledge including proficiency in devising and implementing Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)
- High level communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to build rapport with participants of all ages and with varying capacities and needs as well as the capacity to establish rapport with parents and caregivers
- Respect for participants as valued members of their community and work to understand their goals and aspirations
- Understanding of working within a community agency, including sensitivity to the needs of disadvantaged or traumatised members of the community
- Ability to participate collaboratively and constructively with peers, staff, other health professionals, external agencies and other stakeholders and caregivers
- Flexibility to work both as part of a multidisciplinary team and individually as required
- Excellent planning and time management skills
- Commitment to providing extraordinary service and realising optimal outcomes in line with the values charter
- Excellent computer literacy skills
