About the Role:
At Better Rehab, no two days are the same, though a typical Behaviour Support Practitioner's day may involve:

- Working with clients with a range of presenting needs including complex care, intellectual disabilities, communication difficulties, mental health and behaviours of concern.
- Providing high quality specialist care to clients in order to optimize and improve their health outcomes and psychological wellbeing.
- Undertaking comprehensive functional behaviour assessments
- Assisting people in the understanding and adjustments of attitudes, expectations and behaviour
- Developing individualized, client-centered behaviour support plan recommendations, and working within a multidisciplinary team to implement such recommendations
- Reviewing comprehensive behaviour support plans
- Training and supporting colleagues, providers and families to implement behaviour support plans and related strategies
- Promoting provider, family and other caregiver involvement through individual and group caregiver and provider training.
- Understanding of restricted practices and the role of the Quality and Safeguards Commission
- Providing consultation and supervision to core PBS practitioners working with participants with complex needs
- Ensuring Better Rehab's services maintain best practice and develop the tools to provide positive outcomes for participants
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain clinical standards of record keeping and reviewing clinical work.

About you:

- Previous experience in the area of Positive Behaviour Support and demonstrated experience with positive behaviour support practices and conducting functional behaviour assessments
- Experience creating BIS Plans and PBS report writing
- Experience leading and supervising clinicians in a PBS setting
- You have undergraduate qualifications in Allied Health, Psychology or Applied Behaviour Analysis
- You have a strong understanding of healthcare industry. Prior experience with NDIS is highly desirable
- You understand relevant policy and legislation relating to Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices
- You have 2+ years’ experience working with people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other disabilities who engage in severely challenging behaviours of concern
- You have your own car and a valid drivers’ license
- Evidence of Working With Children Check (WWC)
- Evidence of Police Check
- Evidence of NDIS Worker Screening Check (will be reimbursed by company)
- Evidence of full covid vaccination status
