**The Role**
Reporting to the Senior Business Improvement Officer, the Business Improvement Support Officer is responsible for assisting the Business Improvement team to develop and deliver improvements to support the delivery of the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme (the PALM Scheme). The role will include opportunities for development.

**Pacific Labour Operations Division Overview**

The Pacific Labour Operations Division is responsible for the PALM Scheme, which has two key objectives:

- to contribute to the economic development of nine Pacific Island countries (Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu) and Timor-Leste; and

The division manages the PALM Scheme in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Department of Home Affairs, and the Fair Work Ombudsman. It engages closely with stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for workers and employers participating in the Scheme.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Under broad supervision and guidance, the Business Improvement Support Officer will assist with the development and implementation of uplift initiatives to improve the PALM Scheme and capability across the Pacific Labour Operations Division.

Responsibilities of the Business Improvement Support Officer may include:

- contributing to the implementation of a Cultural Competency framework to help employers, workers, and other PALM Scheme stakeholders to communicate and work together,
- helping to develop guidance materials to support staff to manage the PALM Scheme effectively and consistently,
- helping to develop a complaints management framework for the PALM Scheme
- helping to develop and manage an online knowledge base to ensure staff have access to the most up-to-date advice and guidance,
- talking a lead role in managing the team mailbox, including coordinating responses with relevant team members,
- assisting with secretariat support for committees and meetings.
