**Warehouse Operations Lead**
The Warehouse Operations Lead is to manage all aspects of the warehouse function in the designated area, at a level which is efficient and effective and which conforms to organisational policies, procedures and legislative requirements. This position will supervise and motivate staff engaged in the duties associated with the Logistics Team. Lastly, lead and co-ordinate the activities and transactions at the local area in cooperation and collaboration with centralised inventory and warehouse functions and across other local warehouse areas.
**Location: Newcastle, Wallgrove, Yass**
6 months contract role
Reports to: Inventory Manager

**Key accountabilities**
**Leadership **
Individually and with Managers, ensure understanding and engagement with vision, purpose, and strategic and stakeholder considerations at Manager and Team levels

**Management **
Ensure compliance with relevant financial requirements, implementing and operating budgets for management activities
Optimise resource allocation and planning to meet and exceed service level and affordability targets
Ensure all audit and other reporting and regulatory obligation requirements are dealt with in a timely manner
Manage budgets within expected guidelines and service levels
Ensure commercial responsiveness and completeness are inherent in all aspects of the business unit's activities
**Warehousing **
Manage the warehousing function and activities, including house-keeping and facility maintenance requirements for designated area
Manage warehouse storage and ensure inventory is stored correctly in accordance with procurement contract and manufactures warranty, warehouse and safety requirements
Manage Goods Holding inventory and transactions, in line with Project requirements and set targets
Actively monitor materials found in depot locations, identify storage requirements and accountability improvementsEnsure service levels meet or exceed identified organisational targets
Constantly monitor and improve the effectiveness of the service
Review current practices with the view to implement innovative solutions to increase warehouse efficiencies or to solve urgent problems
Manage the stock take in line with plans and targets ensuring timeframes are met and all stocktake activities and record keeping is in accordance with company policies and procedures
Provide feedback to inventory manager on effective sourcing strategies to provide efficient restocking of inventory items
**Disposal and Waste Management **
Manage and support the disposals, waste management and salvage functions
Dispose of waste, scrap and obsolete materials in a manner consistent with environmental constraints and in accordance with company policies and procedures
Approve appropriate actions for disposing of redundant assets and waste and coordination of the disposal action
**Staff management and team development**
Ensure all team members hold current licences and training to carry out their role
Provide active input into the development of performance and development plans
Development and implementation of training programs to impart skills and knowledge as part of succession planningPlay an active role in motivating the team to achieve their potential and drive a high performance work culture
Assist with fostering a continuous improvement culture in the team to develop and maintain currency and flexibility of staffing capabilities and skills set in order to meet deliverables
