**The Role**
As an APS 5 Geospatial Analyst, you will be expected to perform a range of duties under limited direction, including;
- Collecting, producing, managing, optimising and disseminating authoritative geospatial data
- Designing, implementing and maintaining geospatial data models, workflows, and processes to support business operations
- Developing expertise in data management and manipulation in relation to use and maintenance of geospatial datasets
- Communicating with stakeholders, informing them of changes to geospatial data, products and services
- Working collaboratively with local, national and international stakeholders on matters of strategic national and Defence interest
- Building and sustaining effective relationships with team members and actively mentoring less experienced team members
- Prioritising your workload and monitoring task progress against performance expectations to meet business objectives
- Adhering to quality systems, standards and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. **About our Team**
Foundation Geospatial Branch (FGB) is responsible for the production, acquisition, management and distribution of Foundation Geospatial Data to support Defence and national security interests. Foundation Geospatial data is data, products and services created to a specific standard, adding significant value to activities with respect to their location and environment. This includes maps, charts, imagery, elevation and feature data that is essential in Defence’s capability and high level decision making.

- Are experienced using Geospatial Information Systems such as the Esri ArcGIS Suite or SOCET GXP
