About us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
The role of Registrar, Manager of Fines, Enforcement Operations and Support, entails comprehensive management and support for fines issued by the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, including the enforcement of unpaid fines and infringements statewide. As a central contact for court fine and enforcement warrant operations, the Registrar resolves stakeholder inquiries and operational issues. In a demanding environment, the Registrar applies sound judgment in exercising powers under legislative acts such as the Magistrates' Court Act 1989, the Infringements Act 2006, and the Fines Reform Act 2014. A deep understanding of related legislation, including the Sheriff Act 2009, is essential. Proficiency in Court protocols, procedures, and fines management systems like VIEW and Courtlink is required for effective enforcement, warrant management, and hearings administration.
Ideally work days would be Monday, Tuessday and every second Wednesday but other arrangements may be considered.
About you
