Our product design team owns the end-to-end customer experience from conceptual thinking to creating tangible solutions and delivery to market. Our focus is to create world-class experiences for our customers. We are looking for a passionate and talented Product Designer to join our growing design team. You will report directly to a Design Manager and be a strong independent contributor who can hit the ground running, own larger design efforts, and be a leader on your cross-functional team. You will assume individual mentoring or coaching responsibilities to help support those around you. You will actively contribute to the design community to help influence and promote the value of design.

Our commerce team is building an ecosystem where merchants can grow their businesses and customers can connect with businesses they love. Whether offering top merchant deals or giving customers the ability to buy now and pay later, our team is focused on helping our customers spend responsibly. The commerce team has many strategic initiatives that join the Square and Cash App ecosystems, such as BNPL. This payment option allows our customers to pay online or in person at AfterPay merchants and Square sellers. As a product designer, you’ll shape strategy, build feature solutions, and be looked upon as an expert for some of our most important products.

- At least 2-4 years of relevant professional experience as a product designer
- Use existing design systems & standards to interpret data, informed design decisions based on both qualitative and quantitative insights; suggest improvements to these systems and standards when necessary
- Acting as a product parter, collaborate effectively with your team and guide the vision for our cross functional stakeholders,

- Lead with the voice of the customer and have a deep understanding of human centered design principles

- Has shipped work as a professional (e.g. product launch, client delivery, internal /external launch)
- A portfolio that shows work you were directly responsible for with little guidance from leadership
- Experience as a primary contributor to continuous streams of work
