**About the role**

With your passion for delivering outstanding customer service in a cultural setting, come and join the team at the Ipswich Art Gallery as a Visitor Services Officer. You will play a key role in creating memorable experiences for our guests.

In this front-of-house position, you’ll be responsible for enhancing visitor engagement, improving accessibility, and supporting public understanding and enjoyment of the Gallery’s exhibitions and programs. Your primary focus will be to provide exceptional service across all areas of the Gallery, ensuring every visitor feels welcomed, informed, and inspired.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Deliver Gallery front of house operations including customer service; collection of accurate visitor data; effective retail operations for the gallery shop; front of house administration processes
- Supervise and support Gallery Assistants to ensure the Gallery’s front-of-house needs are met
- Assist with the implementation of Gallery and Foundation functions, events and programs
- Undertake weekend and out of hours work as required

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in museum studies, arts, hospitality or frontline management or study towards obtaining same or equivalent experience
- A passion in delivering exceptional levels of visitor service
- Highly developed communication skills, forward-planning capabilities, and agile turnaround times
- Current Working with Children Blue Card or the ability to obtain one
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate desirable
- Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

**About the benefits**

This is a permanent, part time role (22.5 hours per week) plus one weekend per month, with a salary commencing at $85,007 (pro-rata) plus 12.5% superannuation.
