Reporting to the Executive General Manager of Insurance and based in Melbourne or Sydney, the newly created role of Head of Claims will Guild Insurance’s strategy, plans and execution of Claims, and, run a leading Claims operational team across short tail and long tail insurance that delivers to both customer expectations and sustainable financial outcomes. Importantly you’ll be tasked with managing claims costs, identifying trends and building a customer-centric claims strategy

**Executive Insurance Leadership Team**
- As a member of the Guild Insurance Leadership team, you’ll be an active participant in (corporate) strategy setting, talent hiring and development, communication of staff and customer-critical information, implementation of major change
- You’ll be an architect and an advocate of the overall insurance strategy. Your experience as part of a senior leadership team will see you versed in building and developing strong peer and stakeholder relationships. An authentic communicator, you’re comfortable in sharing the purpose and vision of the business internally and externally.
- Claims Team Leadership*
- You excel in a results-oriented environment and will set a clear and compelling claims strategy that dovetails beautifully into the Guild Insurance Corporate strategy.
- You thrive when you’re leading, communicating, and getting the best out of others; you set high standards and allow for diverse ways for your team to meet them.
- You know your stuff and expect others do the same; you’ll lead from the front by executing and demonstrating personal/professional developmental and exceptional behavioral standards

**Claims Management Operations**
- Design and develop the customer service/claims management strategy that meets the needs of the individual customer segments in a cost-effective manner and enables the overall claims strategy
- Oversee and where appropriate, reimagine all aspects of day-to-day internal and external claims operations and ensure all critical operational; financial, service, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Provide guidance to claims managers, staff, and suppliers relating to the management of outsourced activities, complex claims, and major events inclusive of the relationship that these events have with reinsurance.

**Stakeholders & Advice**
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to key stakeholders to facilitate understanding for robust decision-making and foster Association and Customer relationships
- Represent claims department at industry/client functions as required; build regulator relationships and build a centre of claims excellence that will be admired in the industry.

**About you**
You won’t be surprised that we are seeking someone that comes with claims leadership experience gained with the general insurance or general insurance broking space. You have experience in the reimagination and operationalizing of claims strategy, operations, and processes. We’ll test your technical skillset also, you come with a good knowledge of claims guidelines within a broad range of general Insurance claims, specifically, liability claims including Professional Indemnity, Public & Products liability claims.
