**What you need to succeed**:

- Sound understanding of the sporting ecosystem, inclusive of multi-layered governance structures and challenges within community sport
- Demonstrated experience working within sporting clubs and/or organisations
- Experience in community club governance, management, coaching or volunteering
- A deep passion for growing participation of swimming
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
- High attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritise work commitments and meet deadlines
- Consistently proactive, resilient and taking initiative wherever possible
- High level communication and consultation skills, including a commitment to open, honest, two-way and frequent communication.
- Decision making skills, including the ability to consult and gather information, consider alternatives, communicate decisions and review outcomes in a timely manner
- Disciplined to manage the varied components to this role
- The ability to provide coaching and mentoring to staff
- Conflict resolution skills. The ability to delegate, empower and engage staff.
- A commitment to professionalism and accountability.
- Strong customer service skills and an understanding that the customer experience is paramount
- Good administration and financial skills.
**Essential Qualifications (or willing to obtain)**
- A minimum 2 years’ experience in a management position
- Completed tertiary qualifications in sport or project management
- Some weekend work and the possibility of occasional split shifts if required
- Current Blue Card (Working with children check) or ability to obtain one prior to commencing employment
- Current CPR (must be obtained within 6 weeks of starting)
