**About The Role**:
We are seeking a talented Retail Director to join our team and help drive our continued success. As the Retail Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all retail operations for the company, including managing and mentoring store managers, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, and monitoring and analysing sales data.
This role will see you lead and inspire the team to achieve their sales goals and KPI’s through developing exceptional customer service and operational standards and curating beautiful experiences for our Silk Laundry customers to enjoy.
**A day in the life of**:
- Curate a culture of engagement, energy, and excitement for the Silk Laundry brand and it's values and strategies.
- Champion exceptional customer experience, through leading by example and developing your team.
- Create store specific focuses and performance strategies to consistently meet your monthly and quarterly objectives.
- Recruit and onboard new Silk Laundry team members, ensuring they are set up for success.
- Developing and overseeing our customer engagement and clienteling strategies.
- Create and deliver engaging training and systems to support the retail team.
- Provide support to all team members through a consistent leadership and performance management style.
- Oversee the implementation of all Visual Merchandising direction.
- Spending time on the sales floor, coaching and creating feedback loops to actively grow the stores and teams.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement with a solution focused mindset.
- Staying up to date on industry trends and competitive landscape to remain at the forefront of the fashion industry.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including digital, design, marketing, wholesale and dispatch, to ensure a cohesive brand and customer experience.
- Developing and managing budgets and financial reports to ensure profitability and cost efficiency.
- Creating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers and landlords.
**What you need to succeed**:
- 7+ years of experience in retail management, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and profitability.
- Experience managing multiple stores or a region, preferably in a high growth, people-led company.
- Demonstrated multi-site leadership experience in a fast-paced, retail, environment.
- You will be highly organised with a time-oriented approach and will thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- You will have impeccable attention to detail, confident leadership skills and will take pride in producing work to high performance standards.
- Working as part of a team, you will enjoy creative collaboration and will be highly flexible to get the job done.
- Creative with a keen interest in luxury, fashion and the arts.
- Confident in working with internal and external stakeholders to gain approval on deliverables.
- A desire to play an active and hands-on role to inspire and lead your team.
- Proven track record in supporting others to exceed and meet sales targets and retail KPIs.
- A passion for Visual Merchandising and brand standards, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to coach and develop a diverse team, shifting approaches to best suit each individual.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret and act on sales data and market trends.
- Strong initiative and decision-making skills to actively increase sales, brand awareness and retention when on the shop floor.
- Strong knowledge of clienteling, relationship building, customer engagement and experiential retail execution.
