UX/UI Designer

**Role Overview**:
As one of the first UX/UI designers in our company, you will have an extraordinary opportunity to define the visual identity and user experience of our web-based analytics platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and data science, to transform complex concepts into intuitive, visually appealing, and user-centred designs. Your creative expertise, attention to detail, and passion for delivering exceptional user experiences will be critical in establishing a strong design foundation for our growing organisation.

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to our Product Director as part of the product management team, you’ll be focusing on designing the practical experience and interfaces for our users. You’ll support our marketing team with insights and our development teams with design as you work closely with the Product Director on areas including:

- **User Research**: Conduct user research to deeply understand our target audience, their pain points, and their goals, and leverage these insights to inform design decisions.
- **User Experience Design**: Develop user personas, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate the intended functionality and interaction patterns of our platform.
- **Usability Testing**: Conduct usability testing sessions and gather feedback to continuously improve the user experience, iterate on designs, and validate design decisions.
- **Collaboration and Communication**: Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and data science teams to translate business requirements and technical constraints into delightful and intuitive user interfaces.
- **Design System**: Build upon and maintain a design system that promotes consistency, efficiency, and scalability, and contributes to the evolution of our design principles and guidelines.
- **Design Culture**: Champion the importance of design within the organisation, educate stakeholders about design thinking principles, and build a strong design culture that fosters creativity, collaboration, and user-centricity.

**Requirements**:
**Essential**
- Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer, preferably in SaaS or analytics-driven products.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Solid understanding of user-centred design principles and best practices, with a keen eye for aesthetics and detail.
- Experience with user research techniques, usability testing, and data-driven decision making.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale to non-design stakeholders.
- Good time-management skills.

**Desirable**
- Familiarity with data visualisation and analytics concepts and tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REACT) is a plus.
- Experience and/or interest in improving collaboration and communication is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
- An interest in agile working, culture, and organisation development.
