**About the role**

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for supporting the Procurement Team and internal stakeholders to deliver all Defence strategic procurement initiatives and to ensure timely performance and compliance with company and customer requirements. This role is key in facilitating the development of supplier relationships through best practices.
- Some of your key responsibilities may include:_
- Preparation and review of supplier contracts across a broad range of direct procurement categories;
- Develop and run analysis for procurement activities supporting development of Procurement and Category Plans;
- Create overall and sector-specific reports and dashboards that enable visualization of procurement and supply chain metrics for use in strategic decision-making;
- Review and update of business processes to support continuous improvement strategies and the effectiveness of the procurement processes;
- Support Supplier Relationship Management activities across the business, including the roll out of supplier segmentation and SRM templates;
- Adopt a systematic approach for identification and management of supply chain risks, to avoid, mitigate or eliminate negative impacts to Babcock and our customers

You will have superior communication skills that allow you to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You will demonstrate your ability to work autonomously and possess the following:

- 2 years’ experience in a professional environment;
- Bachelor in Business, Commence, Law, Finance or similar acquired within the past 2 years (desirable);
- CIPS member (preferred);
- Supplier management experience.
