**About the Role**
As a Commercial Credit Manager, you will support the Credit Team to ensure that risk accepted by the bank is of an appropriate standard and structure and is compliant with credit policy. This role is viewed as integral support to the achievement of BOQ Specialist’s business outcomes in terms of both portfolio credit quality and growth.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring business lending activities accord with the Bank’s Credit Policies and procedures, and mitigating policy exceptions where necessary.
- Being operationally focused across a workflow credit queue, with all credit decisions needing to be made within a prescribed acceptable time (SLA).
- Engaging with front-line sales managers and bankers on loan submissions and reviews.
- Working on projects and initiatives as a Credit SME to assist in policy change, system development or process enhancement (and recommending changes and improvements when identified).
- Promoting a positive credit culture within the BOQ Specialist business.
**About you**
Your success in this role will rely on your proven experience in business credit related lending, coupled with a tertiary qualification in a relevant field (such as in Finance, Accounting, Business, Commerce, or relevant discipline). Experience in holding a prior Delegated Lending Authority is also highly desirable.
To be successful in this role, you will also demonstrate the following skills:
- Ability to read, understand and analyze complex financial statements and corporate structures, as well as consider and integrate a broad range of factors in commercial loan structuring and decisioning.
- An understanding of medical (and/or accounting) industry and key financial drivers in the medical/dental/veterinary/health professional businesses will be highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, such as Goodwill loans, Commercial Property Loans, Asset Finance, Escrow and Working Capital facilities.
- Sound understanding of property lending and property valuation principles.
- A basic understanding of banking and finance legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate credit decisions verbally and in writing.
- High level of attention to detail, with strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to think of the end customer experience.
- Capability of managing difficult conversations.
