**How will I help?**

The Credit Manager, Qld role sits within the Business Lending (WBC & Brands) Property Credit team. In this role, you will act separately from relationship management activities and be accountable for transaction credit risk decisioning and structuring. You will have delegated credit approval authorities and be responsible for supporting or providing final credit approvals for credit exposures to a portfolio of customers in the Property segment in Australia.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Commercial Credit Qld, you play a key role to ensure that all credit decisions are soundly based, involve appropriate research / analysis, and reflect the organisation's credit underwriting standards, policies, and risk appetite, and meet local regulatory requirements.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Approve transactions that are within delegated authority and support transactions that exceed the delegated authority for approval at higher levels
- Maintain sound credit quality of your assigned portfolio through proactive monitoring and developing appropriate corrective strategies as and when appropriate
- Ensure adequate reporting and transparency to senior stakeholders so that they are aware of material and emerging risks impacting the portfolio, as well as significant transactions in pipeline and recent approvals

**What's in it for me?**

You'll play a significant part of the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years. Our purpose is to create better futures together. So, we'll back you in the development of your career, internal career prospects, and flexible working. You'll also keep learning to grow your career, backed by a fantastic team of people with a can-do, supportive structure. Whatever shape your family takes, we offer generous paid and unpaid parental leave for your nominated primary and support carers. This includes leave to organise adoptions, surrogacy, and foster care arrangements. And we continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled.

**What do I need?**

To excel in this role, you will need strong banking and financial services experience, particularly with at least two to three years of approving credit transactions for property clients. Additionally, having previous front-line relationship banking experience will be highly advantageous. This combination of skills and experience will enable you to effectively assess creditworthiness, manage client relationships, and contribute to the overall success of the team. Further advantageous qualities and experience includes:

- Extensive banking and financial services experience, including at least 2-3 years of approving credit transactions for property clients. Preferably, this includes prior front-line relationship banking experience
- A tertiary degree in business, finance, accounting, or property
- Sound business acumen with a commercial approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- A passion for supporting property focussed clients (both investors & developers, including owner builders)
