WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

The Salvation Army Australia’s Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of Specialist Family Violence Services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence, modern slavery, trafficking and forced marriage. We offer refuge, children’s and parenting services, counselling, support, men’s programs, accommodation, group work and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced family violence, modern slavery, trafficking and forced marriage.

THE LEADERSHIP YOU WILL BRING

As the State Manager you will have proven experience in the family violence sector, along with senior management experience in social and community services programs. You will be efficient in Operational management of family violence programs, including oversight of all contracts for services, across the state. You will be proactive in building and maintaining relationships with State Government Departments, and their representatives, and equivalent community sector stakeholders. As the State Manager you are passionate about building a healthy team culture and championing your team to succeed.

THE ROLE YOU COULD PLAY
- Delivering the strategic vision and direction of the Family Violence Stream in the State
- Operational management of all family violence programs, including oversight of all contracts for services, across the state
- Building and maintaining relationships with State Government Departments, and their representatives, and equivalent community sector stakeholders
- Ensure programs are appropriately administrated, adequately funded and resourced with staff who are appropriately qualified, and experienced, and demonstrate the competencies to deliver effective high-quality specialist family violence services
- Being a leading presence in the sector within the respective State or Territory to promote and advocate the needs of people seeking services from the Salvation Army and best practice service delivery
- Specialised knowledge, expertise and experiences of The Salvation Army and the interests of clients are represented in relevant state sector forums and influence state sector reform.
- Active engagement and effective collaboration both within The Salvation Army and the broader sector

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Degree qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field and at least 10 years relevant experience, including managerial experience
- Qualification in business or equivalent business management experience
- Experience in active membership in community, government and peak bodies within the family violence sector
- Senior management experience in social and community services programs including the specialist family violence sector
- Project management expertise and experience
- The ability to foster a culture of excellence in service delivery
- Ability to drive strategy and governance within own area of responsibility
- A current Western Australian Drivers Licence is essential
- Be able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
