Your Role
We are seeking a reliable and organised Client Support Assistant to help keep the Vinnies Support Centre running smoothly and to support the vital work of our staff, volunteers, members and the broader community. Be part of a passionate team working hand-in-hand with the community to support people facing hardship. The Vinnies Support Centre is a warm, inclusive space where individuals and families can access practical support, referrals and a friendly face. With services like an emergency food pantry and a dedicated team of volunteers, we work closely with the local community to meet people's needs with care, dignity and respect. This role supports people who may be experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or the effects of alcohol and other drugs. Your Responsibility
- Support delivery of the Society's Strategic Plan in the region
- Understand local issues and client needs
- Provide respectful, confidential and professional client support
- Ability to manage multiple face-to-face enquiries with differing clients and priorities
- Keep accurate records and complete paperwork on time
- Carry out admin tasks such as data entry, filing and photocopying
- Follow finance processes and manage transactions for client support
- Able to conduct EAPA Assessments on site - full training provided
- Maintain the food pantry and organise deliveries
- Prepare for meetings and manage file archiving
- Build good relationships with other service providers
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive work environment
You Will Need
- Experience in admin within a busy office or community setting
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Strong people skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Confident working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Great time management and organisation skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident using Microsoft Office and client databases
The successful candidate will bring experience in managing challenging situations with care and cultural sensitivity, using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all.
