**Health Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator**
- _Salary: _$113,022 - $136,747 (_Plus Superannuation)_
- _ Fixed-Term position for 12 months_
- _ Usual hours of work: Part-time (3 x days per week)_
- _ Usual work location: 1 Spring Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (flexibility may be available)_
- _**The Role**
- As a Health Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator, you will coordinate the planning and implementation of the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA)'s health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) framework and program, and leads the day-to-day HSW activities across the organisation. This role drives a safety culture across the organisation and manages the safety management system and subsequent reporting requirements.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Partnering with Executive and Line Management to develop, review and maintain the VFA's Health and Wellbeing Program and OHS framework, including implementing the OHS strategic plan, while demonstrating VFA's commitment to safety first and the development of a high-performing safety culture.
- Reviewing and implementing programs and frameworks to address psychosocial hazards and support workplace mental health.
- Leading the development and implementation of the VFA safety management system and managing safety systems, SOP's and processes on a day-to-day basis.
- Supporting and coordinating committees and designated workgroups.
- Measuring, monitoring and analysing safety performance with results regularly reported internally and externally including presentations to the Board and People and Safety Committee. This includes:
- Monitoring performance metrics and targets at an organisational, divisional and team level
- Producing safety performance reports
- Planning, coordinating and monitoring safety and compliance audit results
- Working alongside People and Culture and Management on matters relating to ‘return to work' and WorkCover, both physical and mental.
- Providing strategic advice to Management to inform the alignment to the OHS Strategic Plan.
- Managing key projects to support the improved outcomes of safety and wellbeing across the VFA.
- Monitoring the VFA safety risks and controls to support managers in complying with the requirement to control risks.
**The Team**
- The position of Health Safety and Wellbeing Coordinator will work within People and Culture branch, which sits within the Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) group.
- As a statutory authority, the VFA has the responsibility of managing Victoria's fisheries resources in a coordinated and strategic way to ensure their ongoing sustainability, while supporting the value they deliver to the commercial, recreational, aquaculture and Indigenous fishing sectors. The VFA works with government and stakeholders to optimise the social, cultural and economic benefits of Victoria's fisheries and aquaculture industries, while promoting sustainable and responsible practices.
- The VFA supports the development of sustainable recreational and commercial fishing and aquaculture activities in Victoria and delivers recreational fishing and boating infrastructure projects and programs. The VFA is committed to getting more people fishing by creating opportunities for people of all abilities to try fishing; to making it safer, cheaper and easier for the boating and fishing communities to get out on the water; and to making local seafood more readily available for everyone to enjoy.
- The VFA has around 150 employees located in the Melbourne CBD, metropolitan Melbourne and across regional Victoria.
**About You**
**To be successful in this role you will have the following skil ls and experience:
- Demonstrated ability to educate and influence line managers in all HSW requirements, systems, processes and activities, ideally in a similar organisation with regionally based offices and outdoor field workers.
- Proven experience in an HSW coordination or management role and developing and implementing HSW management plans and systems (eg: policies, SOP's and work instructions).
