**About the Role**:
Located in the heart of Perth city, reporting to the Manager Finance Accounting, your focus as the Principal Finance Accounting will be to ensure that Iron Ore accounting activities are performed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner and in accordance with BHP Group and International Accounting Standards.
- Key Core Accountabilities:
- Coordinate the timely submission of mandatory BHP and Joint Venture deliverables.
- Coordinate the annual stewardship review to ensure integrity of financial results, governance of accounting activities and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate the audit process with external auditors ensuring Iron Ore meets its requests.
- Manage the preparation of good quality and timely accounting treatment papers to support complex and judgmental accounting matters considered by the BHP Group team.
- Work closely with the Local, Regional, Group and Global Business Services Finance teams in the implementation of Group initiatives ensuring an alignment of Iron Ore with Group policies and accounting interpretations.
- Support accounting processes to ensure strict adherence to internal accounting guidelines and controls.
- Identify & implement process improvement opportunities, mainly related to accounting interpretations and policies.

**About You**:
You will be results driven with a tertiary qualification in accounting. You will be CA or CPA qualified with at least 8 years’ experience and solid understanding of financial accounting concepts and processes, preferably within the mining sector. You will have sound time management and ability to problem solve by using logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Your exposure to compliance or governance related activities will be favourable. You will have solid attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Ideally you will have experience with financial ERP systems, preferably SAP.
