Advanced Rehabilitation Therapy Aide

About the role
The purpose of this role is to contribute to the care of Gailes Community Care Unit residents by providing advanced clinical support tasks delegated under the direct or indirect supervision of a clinician. This role provides a comprehensive psychosocial intervention (under direction of a treating Clinician) and community linkages to support mental health consumers to access a range of services to promote recovery.
This role works collaboratively with residents and the multi-disciplinary team to support efficient operation of rehabilitation services. This role will be required to work all shifts as per a request-based roster and will support service delivery 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
About you
- Knowledge of the roles of all multidisciplinary team members and experience working within a delegation framework in a mental health service context is highly desirable.
- Self-management skills, including time management, an ability to identify, organise, plan and prioritise tasks, complete duties in a timely manner with limited supervision, anticipate and problem solve, ability to follow directions and working in a team environment.
- Possess a high level of communication skills to develop rapport and a professional relationship with residents. This includes providing assertive and active supports to encourage residents to achieve their goals.
- Ability to assess individual needs, abilities and interests to appropriately plan, implement and evaluate mental health consumer-focused independent living programs and social engagement strategies.
- Ability to establish and maintain respectful relationships and work harmoniously with all members of the multidisciplinary team within a delegation model.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Completion of recognised training at least equivalent to a Cert IV in Mental Health Work (non-clinical).
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
