**About the role**
This is an exciting opportunity for a community-minded professional, passionate about supportive care. In this role, you will identify the needs of those impacted by cancer and assist with their informational, emotional and practical needs by providing appropriate support and referral to relevant services and programs. This support will be provided to callers, visitors and residents at a CCQ Accommodation facility in Brisbane.
Networking with key stakeholders you will ensure all Queenslanders impacted by cancer have an awareness of and access to the wide support services, programs and cancer information available to them. You may also deliver support presentations at volunteer, community and health professional information sessions.
This is a permanent full-time role (37.5 hours per week).
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have a high level of technological skills, ability to identify and manage priorities, and have attention to detail in your work. In this role you will have direct contact with clients, therefore you will also possess excellent customer service skills.
**Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills**
**Essential Skills**:
- Qualifications in Nursing or Allied Health.
- Registration with the Australian Health Professional Regulation Authority (AHPRA) or respective professional body.
- Experience in the provision of supportive care and an interest in working closely with people affected by cancer.
- High-level communication skills, including the ability to engage callers from diverse backgrounds on a range of cancer-related issues and concerns.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to organise, manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a high-performing team.
- Capability to develop expert risk assessment skills.
**Desirable**
- Experience in or a post-graduate qualification in Oncology is desirable.
- An intermediate level of information technology competence, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook, web-based programs and experience of data input and retrieval.
