**About the role**

Reporting to the Manager, Culture and Capability, you will be responsible for the provision of proactive and reactive communication solutions that align to the strategic priorities of Cancer Council Queensland.

In this role, you will develop collaborative and sustained relationships that contribute towards positive partnerships across the organisation. You will coordinate communication on People and Culture activities, including; new and ongoing business, new and ongoing projects using appropriate channels. These channels may include written, oral communication (including the preparation of materials), visual channels and content packs required for the People and Culture Team.

This role is a Fixed-Term, Full-time (37.5 hours/week).

**About you**

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Qualification/s and Experience_
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in a related field e.g. a degree or diploma with a major in journalism, communication, public relations or marketing (or recognised skills, cadetship or relevant experience the hiring considers appropriate to the duties of the position).
- Proven experience in the creation, review and dissemination of communication content with strong attention to detail.
- Experience working within a People and Culture team would be highly valued.
- Technical Skills and Abilities_
- Proven experience writing and editing plain, simple language content.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks in a flexible and adaptable work environment.
- High level organisational skills to coordinate and manage tasks simultaneously with a demonstrated ability to maintain and enhance systems to support effective internal communications.
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, particularly in relation to communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- High level of interpersonal skills in effectively managing interactions with a diverse range of people, including in a virtual environment.
- Proven ability to use initiative and to work autonomously and effectively as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of use in Microsoft suite, Adobe Creative Suite and SharePoint.

**People and Culture**

The People and Culture team look after employee recruitment, wellbeing, workplace relations, learning and development, and Work Health and Safety. The team also oversees the recruitment, development and engagement of CCQ’s volunteers, and supports employees to deliver best-practice volunteer engagement and supervision.

With a workforce of 200 employees, 1100 regular volunteers and thousands of event volunteers, the People Team work hard to ensure everyone completes the relevant training needed to feel comfortable in, and excel at their roles.
