**The Role**
Staff Officer 2 Capability Development (SO2 CD) provides direct support to Staff Officer Capability Development to ensure capabilities continue to be available for directed Air Force capability requirements.

The role is that of a project support officer and involves life-cycle monitoring and reporting of major systems and facilities utilised by the Air Warfare Centre (AWC).

**About our Team**
The AWC Logistics & Capability Assurance Directorate (DLC) provides a focal point for technical and logistics governance including Engineering Management (Technical Assurance, Quality Assurance and Safety), capability management and capability development, and integrated logistics support for systems and equipment operated by elements of the Air Warfare Centre, and in some cases across Air Force and other services and groups.

Working at the Headquarters level, AWC Capability Management and Capability Development is a specialist team of four persons, working closely with many Directorate and Squadron/Unit capability specialists across all elements of the Air Warfare Centre.

The AWC Capability Team works with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the AWC, to deliver:

- Effective capability management for AWC sponsored capabilities.
- Effective capability development from ‘needs identification’ through to operational delivery, to through-life tracking and decommissioning of AWC sponsored capabilities.

The ideal person for this role will be an empathetic team leader and collegiate worker with a high level of written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge and experience in project management and Defence administration procedures will ensure a quick transition into this role.

Intelligence, problem solving and attention to detail are attributes, supported by good judgement that will support the resilience needed in this role to assure AWC's contribution to Defence activities meet deadlines in the right way at the right time.
