**About the role**
Mercy Community are on the search for a passionate **Counsellor** to join our Family and Relationship Services team based in **Ipswich**. This role is a **Permanent Full-time** role and your opportunity to work within an exciting and enthusiastic team, guided by an experienced Team Manager and Senior Program Manager.
**$85,126.00 per annum (SCHADS level 4) plus superannuation plus salary packaging available**
This role will involve but not limited to:
- Provide ethical and professional counselling/therapeutic services to individuals, couples and families in order to stabilise and improve their relationships and the long-term negative effects of family conflict and abuse
- Through the delivery of family counselling, assist the client / couple / family to deal with personal and interpersonal issues in relation to their relationship / marriage. The support, which may include children and young people, can extend to support those who are, or are likely to be, affected by separation or divorce and the impact this may have on them personally, interpersonally or relating to the care of children
- Work collaboratively with the line manager to identify client needs and deliver appropriate services within available resources, continually assessing effectiveness and responding to changing needs and dynamics
**About you**
As the successful applicant, you will possess:
- Degree in Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology or related discipline from a recognised institution.
- Experience of delivering individual and family counselling.
- Experience in individual and family counselling, in the areas of trauma, violence and abuse, parenting concerns, stress, anxiety and supporting families through separation, divorce and blended families
- Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s License
- Current and valid Paid Blue Card (Queensland Working with Children Check) or ability to apply
- Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
