**About the Role**

We are looking for a part-time Diversion Counsellor to join our team. This will be a hybrid position, working from our location in Ipswich and from home for phone counselling appointments. You will be working 4 days per week (30.4 hours). Days of work can be flexible, but you must be available to work on Thursdays.

As a Diversion Counsellor, you will provide delivery of diversion programs including the Drug and Alcohol Assessment Referral (DAAR) Program and Police and Court Diversion (PCD). This will include meeting with referred clients to provide assessment and counselling by using both brief intervention and psychoeducation.

**Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to**:

- P roviding evidence-based phone and in-person assessments and counselling to clients referred through the DAAR and PCD programs via one session for a maximum of 2 hours.
- Ensuring that services provide respect and protect the rights of clients and maintain their privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintaining appropriate clinical records in line with DAAR/PCD program requirements and LLW policies.
- Provide additional psychosocial follow-up support to clients that have completed their DAAR or PCD program, or other clients referred from the criminal justice system.
- Providing appropriate and immediate support to callers escalated by the Contact Centre to the On-Duty Clinicians telephone service, adhering to LLW clinical guidelines as required.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferencing, clinical supervision, and maintain a strong work ethic.

You will be provided with support by the Diversion and Systems Coordinator and a team of experienced and passionate Diversion Counsellors.

The base salary range for this role is $39.26 per hour to $42.25 per hour plus super (10.5%), depending on skills, knowledge, and experience.

**We are looking for a passionate professional with**:

- A relevant bachelor’s degree, or Diploma or relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated clinical skills or knowledge of assessment, case management, risk management, safety planning and brief intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated clinical skills or knowledge working with clients who are referred through statutory pathways.
- Sound interpersonal skills, including a high standard of written and oral communication skills and the demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships and to address and resolve conflict both in the workplace and with consumers.
- A sound understanding of the professional, ethical, and legal requirements that underpin the treatment and clinical management of substance misuse problems.
- Understanding of and commitment to, core values of quality and recognition, professionalism, teamwork, and performance accountability.
- A current Australian Driver’s License, and a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
