Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) are seeking a dedicated and culturally connected Care Navigator - Aboriginal Mental Health to join our team.

This vital role supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families, and communities to access appropriate mental health care and support services.

**About the Role**

As a Care Navigator, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between the health system and Aboriginal people, helping clients navigate complex mental health and social service systems with cultural safety, compassion, and respect.

You will also be responsible for:

- The leading of the Aboriginal Mental Health Team: Oversee rostering, leave, onboarding, and performance of staff. Monitor the quality and accuracy of records, mandatory reporting, and compliance with KPI’s.
- Coordinating cultural support services: Ensure that support for Aboriginal mental health consumers and their families is timely, accessible, and culturally appropriate across sites, and aligns within the Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) Framework.
- Build strategic relationships with stakeholders: Demonstrate high-level leadership and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders both within and outside the district, enhancing efficiency, minimizing service gaps, and supporting integrated care for Aboriginal consumers and families on the Central Coast.
- Enhancing cultural safety: Collaborate with the Local Heath District, community managed organisations, primary care and social support agencies to improve knowledge and ensure culturally safe and effective service delivery. Provide cultural supervision and support to Aboriginal staff where required. Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter

**About You**
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and protocol along with sound knowledge of the issues affecting the health of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people.
- Bachelor qualifications in a Health-related field and/or demonstrated sound management experience with high-level leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- National Criminal Record Check
- Working with Children Check
- Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence
