We currently fulfil upwards of 15,000 hires annually across our branches in Glen Iris and Fairfield with the vast majority of our maintenance and repairs handled in-house.

**The role**
Reporting directly to senior management, the Workshop Manager will lead their team of mechanics and trades assistants to ensure the adequate presentation, operational condition, maintenance, repair and records keeping for the large range of equipment and fleet vehicles in accordance with both company standards and relevant laws.

The expectation is that approximately 75% of time is spent “on the tools”, the remaining 25% performing other managerial/back-office duties, with time spent across both Glen Iris and Fairfield branches.

You would be part of a small management team who collectively are responsible for improving customer service, efficiency and ultimately profitable growth of the business.

**Core tasks include**:

- Directly working on all equipment with your team to ensure it’s checked, serviced, repaired and ready for hire as soon as practical
- Assisting with diagnosis
- Estimating repair costs and recommending repair/scrap decisions to ownership
- Scheduling work
- Ordering parts and sublet repairs
- Ensure workshop is a clean, organised and safe environment at all times
- Managing staff roster
- Performing staff reviews and recommending any additional training for staff
- Ensuring adequate record keeping and compliance

**Hours**:
Core hours are Monday to Friday 6:45am - 3:30pm, with additional hours expected when required.
