**About the Role**

We have an exciting opportunity for an emerging WHS Officer that is keen to make positive and sustainable safety changes within our food manufacturing company. This newly created role will play a vital part in developing and implementing ground level changes by engaging directly with our staff and management on key safety programs

Reporting to our experienced WHS & HR Manager you will be supported as you learn your role and build your safety skills to best practice standards

This role is intially casual, working full time hours starting at 6am Monday to Friday. No travel is required as you will be working onsite at a single facility

**Key Responsibilities**
- Review, update, and maintain online WHS and training platforms
- Undertake daily walk throughs identifying risks and actively engage with staff and management to promote positive behaviours
- Coordinate and facilitate regular site inductions, skills training (SOPs), toolbox talks and inspections
- Participate on the WHS Committee and relevant other training as a WHS Officer
- Investigate incidents & hazard reports, identify causes, and implementing solutions
- Support managers and employees in work-related injuries and return to work plans
- Assist in the review, development & implementation of risk assessments, SOPs, WHS procedures and documentation

**What you Bring**:

- Qualification in WHS (mínimal Cert IV)
- Experience in a manufacturing, transport, FMCG or similar industry (highly desired)
- Good communication skills both written and verbal to be understood in a multicultural workplace (essential)
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office suite (essential)
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn (a given)
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a team environment (another given)
- Australian residency or permanent citizenship or full working visa (required)
- A love of bacon (not required but nice to have)
