
Project Support Officer

Our client is a large council who is seeking the services of a Project Support Officer for a 6 month contract role with a possible extension.
**POSITION PURPOSE**
This role is primarily responsible for assisting the road design team in managing its projects to deliver the projects on time and to budget whilst achieving multiple objectives.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
**Essential**
- Relevant qualifications in Project Administration and/or job-related experience
- Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
- Current class C driver’s license
- Skilled in the use of computer software, MS word, excel, outlook, project etc.
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to work within a team environment.
**Desirable**
- Civil Engineering qualification/Project management qualification
- Previous experience working in or for local government.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
**Position specific**
- Assist the road design team in managing its projects to deliver them on time and to budget.
- Assist in preparing project finance - design budgets and project scope documents.
- Assist in preparing Request for quotes and technical evaluation of design tenders.
- Manage project administration including preparation of purchase orders, invoice payments and the project/milestone reporting.
**DUTIES**
- Assist the road design team in managing its projects to deliver them on time and to budget.
- Prepare and implement the Design team’s project progress tracking spreadsheets.
- Prepare and manage project Gantt charts.
- Research GIS web data and zoning development data for project requirements to prepare the access permits for the design investigation work.
- Assist with project financials.
- Assist with preparing design budgets and project scope documents.
- Assist with the preparation of Request for Quotes (RFQ) and technical evaluation of design tenders.
**Manage Project Administration**
- Complete purchase order requests after tender evaluation for purchase order creation
- Check invoices/variations received from the consultants and assist with processing
- Prepare project action plans, update project correspondence and comply with Council’s record management requirements
- Prepare access permits and send to property owners as part of design investigation activities
- Other duties as directed consistent with the operation of Council
**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 6 months
**Salary**: $40.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Blacktown, NSW: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
