Based in Macquarie Park, the Sourcing Specialist is a critical role and will be responsible for ensuring that all spend is compliant to policies and will drive competitive sourcing activity to ensure the best value for Optus. Working closely with Procurement Managers and Category Managers the Sourcing Specialist will align sourcing activity to ensure they are procuring in line with the current category plans and with Optus preferred suppliers / vendors.
Your day to day will consist of...
Support and drive Procurement activity to help realise business outcomes that will deliver required Annual Operating Plan (AOP), outcomes. Contractual obligations, timely delivery of supplier contracts, realisation of value for Optus.
Supporting Business stakeholders with advice and assistance as required when related to Procurement activity.
Negotiate with suppliers/vendors to drive the best value for Optus.
Negotiate supply contracts so they are adhere to Optus’ Contract policy.
Ensure contracts are renewed prior to expiration, and work with the business stakeholders to ensure a competitive sourcing event is run in enough time to renew the contract.
Work with Optus’ Procurement system to enable and/or update supply agreements.
What makes you perfect for the role?
Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, management, peers and suppliers/vendors.
Strong commercial acumen, financial assessment, management and business case development skills.
Commercial background coupled with analytical thinking capability and the ability to develop and review procurement and cost saving opportunities.
Procurement sourcing experience in Categories / commodities of expenditure. preferably within a ASX listed corporate environment.
Understanding of costing and vendors commercial practices and accountabilities.
