About the Role

Our People & Culture team are currently seeking an Employee and Industrial Relations Manager to join our ER/IR function. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Industrial employment instruments & employee relations inquiries. You will also contribute to the wider business through the provision of interpretation, advice and coaching with key stakeholders and support the Company’s Vision, Purpose and Values.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Collins Street, Melbourne

Reporting Line: General Manager - ER/IR

Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate a strong team environment providing regular input, support and guidance to key stakeholders
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the business
- Ensure business unit compliance to all legislative requirements, company policies and commitments via Human Resources policies, legislative requirements and relevant Awards or Enterprise Agreements
- Assist with managing industrial matters including EBA negotiations, strategy setting, disputes and Fair Work claims to minimise cost and reputation exposure
- Effectively case manage people related issues such as: disciplinaries, performance management, employment tribunals, grievance and absence management
- Stay abreast of changes to employment law
- Provide regular coaching, support and feedback to management staff on Safety, Quality and Compliance to ensure field based performance meet or exceeds expectations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have an ER/IR background, with previous experience within a services/operations based company. In addition to the above, you will demonstrate and possess the following:

- Demonstrated experience as Generalist HR or Industrial/Employee Relations professional
- Experience with negotiating and interpreting EBA's and Awards
- Effective negotiation skills to ensure early resolution of critical issues
- Preferable experience and/or understanding of the utilities industry
- Experience with liaising with union representatives
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law are highly sought after
