Job Description
As the Employee Relations and WHS Compliance Senior Manager, reporting to the Head of People Business Partnering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading Scyne's approach to employee relations and workplace health and safety. You will work closely with the People Business Partnering team, the Chief People Officer, and the broader People Team to strategically own and continuously improve the frameworks, policies, and practices that govern employee relations and WHS compliance across the organisation.
This role is responsible for driving best practice in workforce management, enabling employee self-service, and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. You will lead the enterprise-wide case management approach for employee relations, provide expert guidance on complex and high-risk matters, and govern WHS compliance frameworks. You will also design and deliver capability uplift programs for people leaders, embedding psychologically safe leadership and proactive risk management into Scyne's culture.
Your work will directly support Scyne's Wellbeing & Inclusion strategy, ensuring that all employer obligations are met and that employees and leaders are educated, empowered, and supported in fulfilling their responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities
- Strategically lead the implementation and continuous improvement of ER and WHS frameworks, policies, and procedures, ensuring alignment with Scyne's values, legal obligations, and risk appetite.
- Be the SME for complex and high-risk employee relations matters, providing expert, risk-based advice to the People Business Partnering Team, the broader People Team (including assisting with implementation), as well as senior leaders, ensuring consistent, fair, and legally compliant outcomes.
- Lead the enterprise-wide ER case management approach, including oversight of investigations, grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and reporting as required.
- Partner with the Chief People Officer, Head of People Business Partnering, and Senior People Business Partners to shape the organisation's approach to employee wellbeing, inclusion, and safety, ensuring these are embedded in culture and practice.
- Build and deliver capability uplift programs for people leaders, with a focus on ER case management, WHS responsibilities, and psychologically safe leadership. Partner with Learning & Development to embed these into core leadership development.
- Generate & use ER and WHS data to create actionable insights, identify trends, and inform proactive interventions.
- Own and govern the WHS compliance framework, including the development and maintenance of WHS policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms. Ensure alignment with legislative requirements and best practice standards.
Qualifications
- Qualification – tertiary qualification in Employment Law and/or Human Resources, or equivalent expertise in Employment Relations and Work, Health & Safety, is highly regarded.
- Experience – significant proven experience in employee relations and workplace health & safety, supporting the organisation through compliant & risk appropriate advice, policy, and procedure.
