The purpose of this position is to support the various Technology teams at Transgrid with relevant commercial activities that improve the content and delivery of ICT-related services and related decision-making. The role will be responsible, in part, for negotiating commercial agreements, leading engagements with vendors, facilitating large go-to-market activities, ensuring hygiene to standards and processes and providing ad hoc advice on contracts, commercials and Transgrid’s regulatory environment.

The person in this role is expected to be able to confidently advise on technical and commercial/contractual matters and ensure we are managing Transgrid’s complex ecosystem of vendors to a high standard, ensuring a regular cadence with vendors and managing contractual compliance through effective measurement and reporting of vendor KPI’s. The role is essential in the strategic roadmap of the technology commercial management function, which seeks to be more involved in technical decision-making and seeks to empower technology and ensure we are engaging well with vendors and creating solid partnerships. The role will work closely with legal, procurement and finance functions and will support projects in technology delivery.

For this role we’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who brings a combination of the following
- Minimum of 2 years of working in a commercial technology role
- Experience managing enterprise technology agreements
- Exceptional vendor management skills and the ability to relate well with vendors to drive positive outcomes for Transgrid
- Demonstrated experience negotiating Technology agreements
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated relationship management skills
- Demonstrated experience resolving contractual issues.
- Strong communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence.
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise projects in a demanding environment.
- A pragmatic thinker, solve problems
- Broad knowledge of the technology industry.
- Must be team oriented and results focused.
