**As the Pedagogy Coach, you will**: - Lead and coordinate the coaching and mentoring of teaching staff across years 2 - year 4, and build a culture of strong collegiality and sharing of quality teaching practices to improve student engagement and improved outcomes in English. Encourage a learning culture that promotes teacher capability and self-reflection, model quality teaching pedagogy and encouraging appropriate professional development with a focus on the Explicit Instruction of English
- Lead the implementation and review of teaching and learning pedagogies
- Assume a lead role within the school leadership team with the development and implementation of research-based pedagogy to support consistent, high quality teaching across classrooms
- Lead and model as a pedagogy coach 0.6FTE and co-teach Year 3 0.4FTE, to enable learning walks and WOW time for early years teachers to observe quality practiceAs the Coach, you will have responsibility for the following: - Lead and model whole school pedagogical reform, resulting in improved consistent pedagogy and outcomes for students in English, with a focus on writing
- Work collaboratively with teachers and HOD-C by identifying resources and strategies to deliver preferred outcomes
- Play a support role in delivering the vision of the school's improvement agenda, to improve the educational outcomes primarily of students across years 2- year 4- Lead and support specific projects within the school community to operationalise the development, implementation and evaluation of the initiative at the school level
- Lead strategies to maximise student achievement and support other school initiatives as required
- Improve student outcomes by modelling quality teaching and/or programs across all year levels
- Provide coaching and guidance to classroom teachers in delivering teaching and/or programs
- Provide discipline knowledge and advice to school leadership teams fundamental to enacting programs that meet specified targets
- Develop teacher capability and provide professional development that is needs based and provides on-going support for teachers
- Work with other leaders to prioritise the teaching of programs within the school's curriculum plan
- Improve the capacity of school teams to use evidence-based assessment, supporting staff in the analysis of and response to systemic and student data
- Participate in relevant networks as negotiated with Principal/line manager
