We have multiple exciting opportunities to join our Active Monash Health Club division as a Gym Instructor. This role provides for an individual who is customer focused, inclusive and works well in a fast paced team, making a difference to our community by enabling them to “Participate Their Way’ within our wide range of health and wellbeing-based services. About the Position
Adhere to Active Monash’s Service Improvement Program’s key focus areas; cleanliness and presentation, presence and supervision, communication, staff appearance and professionalism
Assist with operational needs such as welcoming new members, providing training advice, technique correction, generating feedback and cleaning of equipment
Conduct thorough health assessments and design gym programs for members
Provide high level of customer service to patrons at all times whilst allowing them to ‘participate their way’
Positively promote the benefits of health and wellness programs and retention initiatives within the centre
Develop and foster a positive culture amongst patrons and promote other health and wellness and recreation activities
Implement and follow all relevant centre wide and gym policies and procedures
Report major and minor issues concerning gym members or the facility to Team Leader
Provide a professional public image and maintain a safe, informative and friendly gym environment
Collect statistical information regarding patronage
Conduct group exercise sessions when required within scope of practice
**Preferred availability for the times below**:
**Monday**: 4:15pm to 9:15pm
**Tuesday**: 4:15pm to 9:15pm
**Wednesday**: 4:15pm to 9:15pm
**Friday**: 4:15pm to 9:15pm
**Saturday**: 7:45am to 12:45pm
Skills & Experience
Experience in providing exercise and fitness assistance to a range of demographics within the community
Sound communication, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Experience in assessing physical activity and developing individual exercise programs
A flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to varying tasks and priorities
Progression to a Personal Training role and develop a client base
Completion of Certificate III and IV in Fitness or an equivalent combination of experience and training
Sound knowledge and technical skills in prescribing and supervising one on one and group exercise
A demonstrated commitment to providing high levels of customer service
Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate
Current CPR Certificate
Current Employee Working with Children’s Check
Registration with AUS Active
