**In this role you will**:

- Provide expert advice to senior management on specific areas relating to work health and safety by interpreting legislation, industrial instruments, policies and procedures.
- Lead the implementation a program of work to advance the work health and safety culture of the department with a focus on risk management, assurance management, governance and accountabilities, and workforce capability.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefs and other correspondence for internal and external audiences on sensitive and significant workforce health and safety matters.
- Contribute to and participate in a range of Human Resource team agendas, team meetings, HR leadership sessions, strategic and business planning activities.
- Represent the department in whole-of-government forums, committees, and communities of practice to ensure appropriate participation and outcomes for the department.
- Maintain strong knowledge of contemporary WHS practices and processes to ensure currency of knowledge and skills and service outcomes for clients.
- Have strong knowledge of managing complex cases relating to injury management.
- Other duties as directed and required.
