Showcase your intra government relations expertise in this critical EL2 role within a Federal Agency.

In order to deliver its program of works, demonstrate stewardship of these obligations and progress social licence, the Agency needs to establish and maintain constructive relationships with stakeholders across all levels of government, academia, and peak bodies. They require the assistance of a Manager of Intra Government Relations to help in establishing and strengthening these connections.

This is initially a 6 month labour-hire contract with a 6 month extension option. The role will be based in Canberra or Adelaide, with occasional travel as required. Hourly rate negotiable commensurate with experience.

**Responsibilities**:
As the Manager of Intra Government Relations, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan to establish and strengthen connections with key stakeholders. Your key duties will include:

- Establishing and strengthening connections across the Industry portfolio and wider Australian Public Service (APS)
- Building relationships with academia and peak bodies to enhance knowledge and cooperation
- Establishing and strengthening connections with State and local government entities
- Support outposted staff to strengthen connections with the Australian Submarine Agency

Working closely with the CEO and key staff, you will be responsible for implementing the approved plan. This will involve maximizing promotional and representational opportunities, preparing meeting packs and briefing materials in collaboration with the Communications and Engagement team, and ensuring effective information flow about strategic engagement activities and outcomes to teams within the Federal Agency.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:

- Significant experience at a senior executive level in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- Expertise in intra government relations, including a proven track record of establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders at various levels of government.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to identify, shape, and influence opportunities.
- Strong leadership skills with a collaborative approach
- Excellent written skills with experience in preparing high-quality briefing packs and materials
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
- High-level understanding and experience in liaising with state and local governments, academia, and peak bodies.
- NV1 or NV2 clearance essential
