**About the role**

The Asset Obsolescence and Supportability Lead is responsible for managing aspects of supportability of the Landing Helicopter Docks (LHD) Class Ships and Shore systems. The position is responsible for assessing supportability elements, determining root cause, establishing risk to asset capability and driving solutions to eliminate risk/issues or mitigation strategies to reduce risks. The role will oversee obsolescence, repairable parts and common equipment analysis and standardised through life support approaches and manage data sources to support supportability decisions.

Responsibilities could include:

- Develop, Lead and manage the obsolescence management plan together with supply support and conduct: front-end system and sub-system appraisals and thorough hazard analyses to identify obsolescence, assess risks, prepare robust obsolescence risk management plans, project manage obsolescence solutions together with engineering change and project delivery, develop and lead an obsolescence IPT within ASCSPO as well as other platforms;
- Develop and manage a Repairable Parts Management Plan, with Supply Support, conduct analysis of all repairable parts, and monitor MTTF and MTTR of utilised repairable to measure success.
- Conduct analysis of Common Equipment of all types across the platform and understand parts interchangeability and the potential impact on the parts holding requirements.
- Determine certification, traceability, manufacturing, acceptance testing or other requirements such as Lloyds, of parts that have a demand with supply support.

**About you**

You thrive in a complex environment and maintain composure under pressure. You will have a passion for the Defence industry and possess the following:

- Australian Citizen with Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain)
- Engineering degree and/or relevant industry experience in an engineering role:

- Relevant industry experience in an Asset Lifecycle Engineering role or Reliability Engineering role Assessment role:

- Demonstrated experience in the support and/or development of Logistics Support and Analysis artefacts:

- Working knowledge of the conduct of Front-End Logistic Support Analysis activities;
- Working knowledge of Defence engineering, maintenance and financial policies and procedures.
