About the role

**Role Type**: Permanent, Full-time
The Markets Business is a ~$2bn p.a. revenue business consisting of ~1400 FTE, which brings together sales and trading teams to provide a wide range of financial markets products and services to ANZ’s Institutional customers. The Markets strategy is to deliver a simpler, stronger, better returning and more connected Markets business. The business is seeking to drive structural efficiency front to back, by executing the strategic initiatives to transform customer offerings; making it easier to do business with; improving efficiency and adapting to regulatory change
As Business Partner, Markets, you will support your CFO and Business Leaders by providing forward-looking, strategic financial insight and advice to drive performance at levels considered material to the Group CEO & CFO. You will focus your resources on advising the business on strategies and tactical activities that improve financial performance. Your value lies in your deep contextual understanding of the business; your ability to use data to generate insights that lead to enhanced performance; and your capacity to influence your senior stakeholders to take action.
You will work to identify critical business issues, providing commercial analysis and recommendations, challenging the status quo and ensuring your stakeholders prioritise and optimise financial outcomes in line with ANZ Group and Divisional objectives.
You will often collaborate with other teams across the Finance and business community, including SDT teams to augment your capability with targeted, specialist analytics; Divisionally Aligned and Fixed Capacity Change resources from within the FPM community; and Financial Control - as key enablers.
Role accountabilities
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
Provide high quality financial analysis and insights to support commercially astute decision making
Develop deep contextual understanding of financial performance drivers and be able to articulate the impact of regulation, competition, emerging customer trends, the global economy and internal management actions
Draw on stakeholder relationships and industry experience to identify opportunities for improvement in the context of ANZ’s broader strategic objectives
Strive for exceptional and timely stakeholder service to develop and uphold the reputation of the Finance community
Support your business stakeholders through changes in the finance service proposition
Collaborate with other parts of finance and relevant points of contact in the business to ensure that all relevant parties in Finance maintain sufficient context to execute on your responsibilities
Mentor and develop leadership talent within Finance for the future, and actively build and maintain a talent pipeline
Promote opportunities for knowledge sharing and skill building across the organisation
Ensure compliance to ANZ policies and procedures
Ensure business regulatory and operational risks are managed and mitigated

- Demonstrated experience at sourcing data and undertaking financial analysis, drawing inferences and conclusions, to lead to better business outcomes
Commercial acumen and high financial literacy that recognizes how different actions and strategies can impact our risk profile, profitability and revenue
Knowledge of the Markets business, products and strategies, and how this is managed in the context of the external economic environment to drive sustainable and profitable revenue growth
Experience in working with multiple senior business stakeholders, and ensuring that the analysis and insights provided are relevant to those business heads
Strong verbal and written communication skills, that ability to effectively communicate insights to business stakeholders
