Play a vital role in the high priority NSW Koala Program and help us meet the goal of doubling the numbers of koalas in NSW by 2050.
**About the role**
NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service received funding from the NSW Government to help meet the goal of doubling the number of koalas in New South Wales by 2050 and we are a seeking suitably experienced Project Officer to join the NSW Koala Program team. Through this program, we will secure and restore habitat to support the growth of koala populations including mitigating other known threats to koala populations.
Working as part of the team you will be contributing to development of skills and technical resources to improve koala and other wildlife rehabilitation services. A typical day could include:
- developing and implementing Departmental standards and other technical resources that guide quality assurance of providers of koala and other wildlife rehabilitation services.
- supporting the development and implementation of policy, procedures and resources that promote best practice in the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured wildlife.
- coordinating and supporting projects involving the post-release monitoring of koalas and other wildlife species.
- analysing, preparing, and presenting reports on wildlife rehabilitation data and coordinating processes for continual improvement of data collection and reporting processes.
- collaborating with wildlife rehabilitation and veterinary stakeholders.
**About You**
Ideally you will have a strong track record playing a key role in the coordinated delivery of state-wide and high-quality programs managing wildlife rehabilitation, koala or biodiversity conservation projects. You’ll be a natural at balancing conflicting priorities and deadlines including the ability to work within a geographically dispersed team.
**Essential Role Requirements**
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in project management.
- Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration.
